Weeell...
Got into this nice "clicker". The music is enchanting :) and that made me want to dwelve a little bit more into it.
The NPCs telling me that "monsters will soon fight back" made me upgrade my defence. I got a little suspicious, because I dealt the same damage to ennemies with 1, 2 or 5 defense. I still did it.
I encountered the first ennemy with "1" attack while I had 2 defense points. It dealt damage. The next one killed me with the same stats, "1" attack for ennemy and 2 defense for me. Soooo... what's the point ?

applessmillion responds:

Howdy!
I realize this info isn't easily accessible, but 4 defense points = 1 damage negated. Example: 8 defense will protect you against 2 attack.
I'll plan to make this a sign or something early in the game!
EDIT: I've gone ahead and added skill descriptions into the game description. I'll add something in-game later today when I can get changes published.
EDIT2: Added more info to the game. See the notes here: https://applessmillion.newgrounds.com/news/post/1146212

I had a good feeling when I started this game.
I told myself : "Ok, this is going to be good, to play pool with planets."
I liked the art. I liked the ambiance. "Ok. Let's start."

Then I started. I understood pretty quickly not to launch the moon in the black holes (I didn't read the "How to play") and I found the idea great. I saw that there were some changes in the gameplay that appeared randomly, spicing up the game. I didn't see a scoring bar, or anyhting, so I made a challenge to myself to finish the first "world" in the fewer shots possible. Good.

And then.... "Fx : Gravity" appeared, and I couldn't shoot any planet in a black hole because... the planets never leave the "ground" high enough to go in any black hole. How do I know that ? I had this FX at least 10 times in a row, mixed 3 times with "Fx : slides"...
So 13 times with "Gravity" where you can't do anything (I even had a black hole near the "ground", the planets never went there in "gravity" mode...) and "Slides" where it doesn't do much... The same thing happened next with "Fx : small planets", which appeared 5 times in a row....
I told myself that it wasn't too bad, that I just had a bad score count only to me, but the game records the number of moves you have to use in order to calculate the score... which is kind of harsh given the "punishment" you can get if you get "gravity fx"...

So the game would be awesome if the mix of the fx was more efficient and maybe less (or more ?) random, meaning that fxs should not appear too often... or in a more diverse way ?

HealliesGames responds:

Thanks for playing, cob4!

The FXs are not random: they change every turn depending on which planet is nearest the moon.
Placing the cursor on them will show their FX, and placing it on the moon will show the approaching planet.

10 000 000 points ! :)
Well, it was overall easy :) (Had to use the 3 lifelines for historical or sports question, though :p ). The game in itself is great :)
You could add, instead of having to double click, a window saying : "Is that your last word ?", some feature that higlight the answers or any choice when the mouse goes over it and the result would be excellent :)

Just a note : I think there are spelling mistakes for the molecules names.

ThePartyCrew responds:

I think I fixed the spelling errors just now but I am glad you liked my game!! Great job for getting 10,000,000 points also!!

Nice game, but it would be better if :
- you could "fail" a date ;
- you could actually "succeed" in finding "the right one" ;
- there was a different voice for each character.

DavidMarchand responds:

Definitely. More voices and extra “good ending” content for each character was out of our scope, but it's really tempting. And we were very little systematic about good or bad dates, relying more on whether we liked the character or not, but future experiments would no doubt need more system and more interaction guiding outcomes.

What a nice game !
But some things made me want to remove 1 star :
- the lack of a death counter (in those kind of games, it's something that every player expect :) );
- the fact that you can choose any level from the start ;
- and (and I think it's related to my previous statement) the fact that the difficulty is... not in a curve (14 first levels are quite easy, I didn't struggle at all, while level 15 made me die at least 15 times :D, and then level 16 was a walk in the park) is making the experience a bit strange (I think it's quite easy over all...).
Good job anyways :)

PS : where did you put influences from Pokemon ? I see the other games', but not that one :)

stargazerstudio responds:

Thank you! :)

Death counter is implemented hehe but we're not showing it right now because we're a bit lazy these days :) same for the unlocked levels!
From the level design / difficulty aspect, I agree it is pretty random, that's something we plan to work on in the following game were we plan to section the levels into chapters and introduce new type of "enemy movement" in every new chapter.

Pokemon ice cave levels! It's where the movement is from :) i think every pokemon game for gameboy advance has these ice cave levels. Another example is a mobile game called Tomb of the Mask.

Thank you very much for your comment, it's highly appreciated :)

Nice game :) A little bit short, that's sadly why I removed 0.5 star. But it's just so it motivates you to do a longer one ! :)

I found a secret item (maybe which leads to the "stupidly obnoxious ending", like you said in a previous comment, according to the way I found it :) ; hint : it "annoyed" the character, in a matter of speech :) ), but I dont know how to use it (I really think I should be able to use it in the scene with the scarecrow, according to the item...) Howwww ? :)

Again, great game :)

TheEnkian responds:

The items you found (if it's what I believe it is) gives a slight extra bit of dialogue in the obnoxiously hard to find ending.

Very glad you enjoyed the game so much! The second chapter will be longer, with more horror and more puzzle elements to it. Working on it a we speak.

Well.... One word to describe it : WOOOOW !

At first, I had several critics concerning this game :
- I wanted to know the name of the units
- Sometimes the randomness of cards made me almost lose right at the start....
- How do I get the achievements ?
- What do the abilities do in game ?
But... but...
This is what makes this game so good. And so addictive (I started last evening. I finished now level 105... :) ). After some reflexion, I found that the aesthetics of this game is respected from beginning to end (btw, is there an ending ? :) ).
The crude, minimalistic feeling that goes along with the era depicted, the god that turns spoils into ashes with... a beer mug :), the movement being slow and steady like a great stone god would do... Well done !
Still, I have some things to add :
- around level 85 and up, the enemy unit 10/100 that has "Battlecry" (with a name that would have been easier ;) ) falls in the ground, ending up killed with a glitch. Made some battles easier, but I warn you that the glitch exists :)
- why not some rewards along with the achievements ? I thought it would go along well with the God announcing them and rewarding you (yeah, maybe it's just so that it would appear once more in the game. Love its design :) ).
- I still don't understand some of the abilities, even though I'm at level 105 and I unlocked every card. What do "Ice Touch" and "Support" do ? :) (not that it matters much, but I'm still curious :) )

5 Stars. Would have liked to give more.

Mimivirus responds:

Thanks a lot!
As fore the abilities - Support units buff allies in small area around them every 5 seconds or so. Smaller one buffs ATK, bigger one buffs HP.
And Ice Touch... I removed this from the game (had bad interactions with other stuff). Doesn`t do anything, just forgot to change the card picture :)

With a bit more narration, choices to be made in between the shootings that can influence the outcome and more gameplay time, it would have got a 6 out of 5 stars. Or even a 7.
But you still get a 5 :)

Emptygoddess responds:

Darn, I really wanted that six.

A little bit repetitive... But yeah, in 3 days, it's quite good !
It could use Bosses , different backgrounds, a magic bar that you have to refill, and maybe the dash is too strong... (ideas that I had...)

castpixel responds:

Thanks for taking the time to reply!
Bosses and different backgrounds, noted. A magic bar? As in your main weapon needing a refill?

Awesome ! A lot better than the first one ! Yeah, a full release will be perfect ! I'm such a big fan of this kind of hip-hop mood !

duckbridge responds:

<3 hmm...not allowed to comment only 1 heart, so here's two <3
